Hi, My name's Enya, and I've just joined My stud is Crystal Mountain (yeah, yeah, weird name. I really want to change it, I first thought of the name a long time ago when my mind was in some fantasy land. lol) I'm 14, and I started showing models with the HPMHC from the start of 2005. Back then I dug out my old toy horses from the bottom of the cupboard, and started *ahem* photo showing. Well, more like sticking the horse in the tree and taking a photo, lol. My Breyer collection (they're what I've been collecting ever since) started with the 'palomino morgan' stablemate I got free for subscribing to Horsepower. Then I bought 'Party Shoes', and later on won 'Capella' and the twin palomino foals. Pretty small collection, I know, however I'm hoping to buy more models very soon. When the HPMHC stopped I didn't really do too much more showing, but I hope to get back into it this fantastic hobby: showing with TSIMHC and the new HPMHC (it should be great with Danielle running it!) Well that's about it from me. Oh yeah, and I own a thoroughbred who takes up most of my time Sorry for the long post. I would put up a photo of one of my models, but I don't know how to attach images:) Enya

Hey welcome. Hope you have fun showing with us. We look forward to seeing your models. An easier way to upload photos, is if you have it the correct show size, you can't enter with those huge straight from the camera picture, upload the picture in www.tinypic.com, then this:

Thanks guys . Here's a couple of my models. My photography skills have certainly improved from putting the horse in the tree and taking a photo, but I still have a way to go, so feel free to criticize Crystal Mountain Caballo D'Esperro Crystal Mountain Golden King

Like, no LOVE the first pic-altho i cant see his face very clearly- would look great against a lighter side (such as the other side) of ur background- which is quite nice too! As for the small collection- dont worry! Its much better to have great pics of fewer horses than crappy pics of a bigger collection (like my crappy pics) BUT ITS A LEARING EXPERIENCE! As for the 2nd pic- a little out of focus ive got that fence too! maybe try taking that pic in lighter conditions.... maybe outdoor light? its just a bit dark but great! Im just fussy- and it is a learning experience! My pics are soooo bad right now.... no time to show and when i do, my pics look like my dog took the photo!

Hey Enya! Welcome to TSIMHC, I hope you enjoy our club (with its spiffy new type of shows... and the admins now have time to judge, now that we're in holidays...YAY!). I remember you from HPMHC! ou won the naming contest for Capella and I think you won the stud award and recieved the foalies lol, taking photos in a tree? I don't think many people would think of that one xD And I love the pic of Caballo D'Esperro!

Welcome Enya to the club, I hope you learn a lot from here so when you enter HPMHC you can win some pretty ribbons The first pic is pretty good, there are no faults I can see but the second was a bit blurry and the footing (grass) doesn't match the background but don't worry. I mostly judge on if the model suits the breed its assigned to and then the background stuff

Yeah, what all those people just said is what I did say, but then the computer got rid of it before I posted so I wrote something different. Also have you ever thought of using a Prefix in the horses names? It might be a bit easier than typing the whole long name.

Hi Penny!! I saw TSIMHC advertised on the aust-mh newsgroup ages ago, and was going to join but I didn't get up to it and forgot. But I saw something about it recently, and decided to get my act together and join before I forgot again:) You seem to be going very well with those stunning photos of yours, second on the leader-board, wow!
Thanks so much for the comments guys:) The camera I use is a Kodak Easyshare cx7530. It isn't always the best camera for focusing, it works most of the time but it can sometimes get pretty frustrating! That second pic got a bit stuffed up, in the background there's actually quite a bit of sky above all that grass (I think its grass, but I'm not exactly sure) but I realized the edge of the fence was showing, and the computer wouldn't let me crop the side without cropping the top too:(
Amy, I'm sure your pictures are fine, that one on your avatar looks really good:) And Becky, for backgrounds, try and get your hands on anything you can think of, although the grass seems to be working quite well. Its always easier with smaller models to find backgrounds in books and that, but anything-calendars, paintings...my top pic's a painting my grandmother did, and the second one is from a book-I propped the footing up with other books so it came to the right level for the photo. Anyway, thankyou for all making me feel so welcome, I'm sure I'll enjoy TSIMHC:D
