It's unofficially official. This is the model horse event of the year. The Black Tie Event LiveThis show is still in the beginning stages and is hoping to be run mid-late-2008, in the Sydney area. Prepare for a great show! With divisions for OF, CM, Mini OF, Mini CM, Performance, Workmanship and Novelty. Ribbons, rosettes, raffles, auctions, prizes and more! With a Black Tie theme! Prizes such as Black Tie Affair(Strapless mold), and other black and white horses. The show's purpose is to raise as much money as we can to help support a certain animal rescue. This year we are hoping to help Misty Ridge Equestrian Centre TB Rescue (an ex-race horse rescue). We may have a general goal, or we may sponser 1 or 2 horses in particular. We need your interest whether it's to come and join in on the fun for the show day, to donate prizes, money, anything. We have a list of needs for the moment, but right now we just need to know how much interest this will gain. Check out the site Click Here Feel free to ask any questions or let us know what you think!

Sounds like FUN!!!! I'd love to go, hopefully its near when Sydney Live is going to run, so I can stay for that too! I'm in VIC, so it might be hard to get up there otherwise!

Yea I understand, though the only problem with that is we can't hold it the same weekend, and you would stay up in Sydney for a whole nother week just for another show?

The moss vale-sydney live show double worked well (it is on next year) but another one sounds good. I think three together is a bit much though, especially for people who travel over.

sounds like fun! although being a good 5hours away i cant really say as to whether i could make it Sounds good though, and i reckon doubled with one other show would be fantastic, but like georgie said, three might be pushing it hehe.

It all depends on when it is on, in regards to the other shows, and whether or not I can afford the trip down there + accomodation, and time off uni.. lol But we shall see! Otherwise I might send some horses for proxy again. That was great!

Georgie did you get my message? Just curious. =]
I don't want to compete with other shows, but having them all around the same time is a terrible idea. Especially for whoevers goes last.
But our show is for a horse rescue, which the show will be held at so you'll be able to see the sponsered horses, and because the lady who runs that also does several other things there, some prizes will be free lessons, trail rides etc. Doesn't that sound cool? hehe I wouldn't mind winning something like that.

This is going to be a hard time for a show. There's already Georgie's show in mid-october, then Leesa and Jane are combining to make a huge 2-day show in early october..

We never said when the show was exactly. We may do it earlier. But then that's winter. So it's like, us trying to do this won't happen cause everyone else is already doing theres. We were trying to get together with someone else to help, but I guess since Georgie is doing hers again she won't help, and obviously the other ladies won't. I didn't realize they were all doing their shows again.

i guess thats just what happens when the hobby starts expanding which is a great thing i feel! hehe. Rach, im sure there will be people that can help you. And no-one has said they cant or wont come You will just have to pick a time wisely, and maybe send out 'letters of interest', to see what people think of certain times of the year. If you do it that way, you can put in the letter the dates of other peoples shows as well, and see what the response is You could always (if you cant get enough people) contact some of the other show runners and see if they are interested in the campaign for the charity. If a tiny part of each live show held in 2008 was donated to a chosen horse charity (one that is mutually decided upon by show organisers), the concept of raising awareness and money might just work Holding a private live show isnt the only answer =D

Thanks, I'll keep that stuff in mind. (I think this sorta thing also happens when I'm stuck in another country. If I wasn't we'd be doing it earlier.)
But yea.... I'm working very hard to get this done.
