okay, well i'm overly excited so.. here is my news. well yesterday i tried out a pinto gelding called duke, he shook his head a lot and bucked twice (because a blister had popped on the outside of his mouth where the bit rubs.. poor baby). -dramatic drumroll- ..i bought him. XD he's sixteen hands, rising five and we have no idea what his breeding is. he only has brown markings on his bum (shaped like a target), around his face and spots here and there.. he's not everyone's favourite colour but i'm in love with him. his advertisement pictures.. and herrre's the movie, watch it to the end.. i put some bucks in at slow motion. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndkgxEuCMYc[don't mind me, i was riding like a retard.. i can't ride in stock saddles! xD] =D also if anyone has any tips/hints/ideas/know it all about hacking/showing/pintos please let me know.

sixteen hands is rare for pintos! ponies are easy to find. -shrug- i think he was just in pain because of the blister, not so much being naughty. =]

Aww he's so pretty. I'm jealous. ;D But you bought him so soon? I hope you tried him out more than once.... if not good luck. But really I hope it works out seeing as you only saw him just the other day. Anyway who cares if other people don't like him. I hate it when people tell you stuff like that, it's not their horse anyway. Just a curious innocent question, how long have you been riding /owned horses? (oh and where in nsw do you live?) What sort of showing? Because www.efanational.com/ the EFa is a great place to start. They got rules and regs. on most sports.

yes.. it was a bit of a spur of the moment thing, as someone else wanted him (bidding war!) even though we'd originally asked for a 24 hour think about it.
ive ridden since i could walk, and lessons from the age of five, i'm fifteen now so.. =P i think i had a pony when i was about ten, and continued from there.. i'm sydney based.
gosh, why didn't i think of efa? >.<
stilllll.... i'd like to know peoples experiences, tips etc. =D

I'm the same! Ridden since i could walk, now fifteen, lessons since five...thats so cool! I have some great show turn out tips! If you're looking for shows rules and info, www.emmasshowhorses.com is a great place for show programs, download one and have a look as there are plenty in Sydney! As for show turn out, i think pintos look really smart plaited, just a personal opinion=) Hoof black is another thing, my instructor who teaches judges to judge in Sydney (winks) prefers all black hooves over some black and some white. My Welsh A has three cream hooves but i paint them all black...for example below: Here he is ready for show with a dyed mane and tail, washed and rinsed in avon skin so soft (yes it makes an excellent coat shiner! Better than baby oil!), raven oil applied to legs (this stains and i found i had black fingernails once done...) and all hooves painted black. He's a bit fuzzy as he was growing his winter coat, but with Welshies you can' t clip them. Why not get in touch with the pinto association NSW www.pintohorseassocnsw.com/That's all i can think of now...I'll probably have more babble about shows on the way any how...Hope i was some help!
