heyya i just finished my first CM schliech horsie! yay.. im kind of annoyed though because the photo's i took are horrible and dont show up the true colour.. my camera isnt being very nice.
i repainted the lippizanner stallion (that grey one) into a cremelo with one blue eye, one brown eye. im happy with the way he has turned out, but i cant seem to bring out the creamy coat in the photo's.. i guess it shows up a bit like the colour he originally was.. although its totally different! lol. i also put pink around his nose, eyes and manly bits that doesnt show up too well. for my first try i think he's fine, but i plan on painting my hano mare into a pinto.. that will be a bit more of a challenge.
ill put the pictures up tomorrow.. photobucket is giving me the heebyjeebies... ie too slow ^^

Oooh well done lol, Schleichs are great for doing your first CM, because, almost no matter what, your paint job looks better than the original My camera does that too! I did a neat job on my Clydie's schnozz, but my camera just made it look off-white Can't wait to see the pics!

Very nice! When i first looked at him, i thought he was pink! But he looks lovely! Nice details on the hooves too! I looked off my schleich appaloosa's hooves when i did my first schleich CM- he has nice striped hooves! Youve done a great job! I love that mold- he is gorgeous! I have a heap of schleichs! im an addict... and am waiting for the newwies to come in!

thanks guys!!! i like the hooves too hehe, and yep he does look a bit pink up against the brown.. its so hard because it depends what he is near as to what shade his coat turns! agh! lol. shleich's are heaps easy to paint compared to breyers.. my breyer attempt is the ugliest thing anyone could see... never for public viewing, in fact it now has the value of a 'body only' horse. haha

cute!! try photographing him up againset green or blue, that should help I recon that the only schleich to come up worse is the fallabella (gimli's) mold but your lil guy is tops!

Very nice. Although yea I strongly suggest no more brown background. hehe, he really does look pink everytime I look at him. I like schliechs too, cause they are cheaper than say breyer, but so many people have them and people tend to show the same ones so it's hard to judge the same model if say thethe pics look almost exactly the same. So I'm sticking with breyer and or anything else that's more one of a kind (cause I know breyers tend to double up too )

haha yeah i know, no more brown, but i did try other colours before the brown.. unfortunately it came up basically white though.. which still isnt the right colour! agh i think i should have painted him a different colour!!! ^^ oh well, im the same as you, i prefer my breyers and stones, more expensive but definately more individualistic =D (is that a word?!?!)

I recon that it really shows off photography skills when the same mould is seen alot.

i suppose.. it just depends really, some judges prefur to judge on the horse, and others the photography skills. i guess its finding a balance of both really ^^ i dont mind seeing the same mould a few times, but i can understand how hard judging would be if there were too many in one class, with similar photography skills.

i guess its like, there might be two or three horses that look the same, (in real life) but you dont get 50 of them in the one class. dont think many horse shows ever had 50 entrants in one class anyways..........................................
