Two (or three, I can't remmeber) days ago, I dragged out mum's old (horse grooming) box of paints and brushes and had a crack at CMing! Monique was going through the laundry cupboard about a week ago for some reason and a stack of giant plastic bugs that we used to play with fell out, with a little plastic Clydesdale in it! I think it was supposed to be a replica of the old Breyer standing Clydesdale mare model. It's plastic was blue and it has painted-on black hooves. I also painted the little Schliech Holsten foal (that looks like a woolly mountain goat). i didn't bother stripping all the paint off it because I didn't have the proper stuff to do it with. I attacked him with the sandpaper to grind away those horridly huge seams, but only to make the texture all lumpy and ick-looking. I'm pretty proud of these two little ones Although the Clydesdale's colour didn't exactly turn out realistic looking. Would you say these two were PSQ? Judging from my crappy photos, of course - it was 5:30 in the afternoon and the light wasn't so good, so I ran outside and plonked them ontop of the big pump and boar water box to catch the last bit of descent light And sorry the pics are so big and bad quality >.<

Well I really like the shading on them. I think the clydie's finish looks fine in the more distant photos - although from the near side he has a weird shape! Looks good on the off side. I like the foal ;D

Awesome painting skills you got there! xD I unfortunately lack them. They look like fine PSQ models to me, though the clydesdale still has some awful seems.

They look good as far a the colour goes. But that Clydie's got the strangest body shape! I personally wouldn't show him cause his conformation isn't correct. Or at least it looks like that from the angle it's at. But good job with painting. *thumbs up*

Thanks for the great comments guy But I'd hardly say I have awesome painting skills (yet! haha as you can see, I'm not vain at all ), they only look good because of the shading I did, and somehoe the camera highlighted the good bits lol. I am not being modest, btw I'm surprised at how good the foal looks in it's first picture. The highlights above the knees and hocks was not intended, but it looks good anyway! ^^, I think it turned out that way because I mixed the coat colour so many times and all the layers were different colours, so maybe the layer of paint around that area was thin or something ^^, lol and as for the Clydie... the sandpaper was really a bad idea, but atleast I got rid of the 2mm thick seams all over it! And yes, I did say that it was a crappy replica, lol. That swayed back, overdone butt and shoulders... and the ears are so fat >.< The camera made his blaze look alot better (it's all lumpy fron the sanding), but it highlighted the socks so much that you can't see the shading I did for the feathers But you don't want to see the hooves, I couldn't mix up the right colour, so there's sort of a line of grey with bits of purple here and there And I put way too much black/brown mix on that foal's near side flank. Maybe I should fix it up... maybe. Oh and I DID make the Clydie's nose a nice pink, but you can hardly see it in the pics because the camera really highlighted the white/light bits. P.S.: I'm listening to the Chilli Peppers again! Can't get enough of them ^^
