Oh she's gorgeous! How did you get her mane like that? what did u use? I havent tried hairing yet- still working on the darn pastellling! I havent had a spare millisecond to begin my newest CM project yet! I wish I had the time... Maybe Ill do it on monday (I love public holidays!) Although my uni still makes us go on public hols (but we get anzac day off !?!) anyhows, I dont have any pracs (which are every second week and i had them last week! so it is a day off for moi and I intend on spending it with my minis!) And making a list of what I still have to get for decent pics! Isnt it funny, when I spent $50 on the horse, $100 for the saddle set (professionally made) and another $30 for the western doll, I thought I'd be able to take decent pics. Now I have no grass in my yard and have to resort to either taking pics at my grandparents farm a 1/2 hr away- or buying a background. SO, its back to the bank account for some good background piccies. But thats what I will sacrifice for my Trads. I love all my scaled models, but loooove my trads and my schleichs! All 33 of them... with 4 more on the way... at least they are a little cheaper!!!!!

For her mane I just used her original hair. The cheap stuff. Cut it all off stuffed the remaining stubble into her neck and then glued bits of the hair on, starting short at the bottom and getting longer but then it wasn't working right so I just chopped it off. And I thought it looked alright. But I don't want her to have a docked tail. So I'll have to practise on some poor unsuspecting model.

i really like your work on that model, and i think the paint works fine without an airbrush esspecially on the smaller models. id love to be able to customise.. but so far my attempts have failed miserably oh well practice makes perfect so they say. PS the mane and tail dont look too bad from the first pic... the second one makes the tail much more visable lol.

Yes I'd agree with that.... I find repainting really fun and easy, but I just can't do dapples! So like you said practive makes perfect so I'll have to keep trying.

haha yeah, im an artoholic at school.. can paint anything on canvas, draw anything on paper but when it comes to repainting model horses im a real flop! im sure if i had more patience id be much better off too i tend to love finishing things quickly... which hardly ever works.

Well I think that depends on the person. But yea it's not exactly easy to do it right.
