Well today I decided to do another CM. I had read up on stuff for awhile, went out and bought myself some more stuff. (gesso and matte varnish) And searched through a few Horsedeals magazines. This is what I got. Please pardon her mane and tail... I may have just do something about that. She started without any and it was my first attempt to hairing, so she has a roman cut, (which if you think it's an ok idea then I'll make it thicker... cause I'm not too sure) and her tail is made out of playdough. (which obviously can't stay) I'll probably go and get some clay and give her a clay mane and tail though. I got her colouring off an Appy mare in Horsedeals, so if I decide to show her she's got a pedigree. Oh btw, I have no clue what brand she is! I got her a few years ago she was the type with the long long mane and fuzzy tail. Here she is. KP Mega Dream Queen

It reminds me of the grand champion, smaller ones, quarter horse stallion sorta. But mine was palomino. When your customising, Ive noticed most people use normal paint which you can't really use on models, it is better to use an airbrush.

I know I know.... not everyone can have all the money in the world. I'm getting one soon, just practising. But I though she was rather nice.

Great job!!! I don't like models that have been airbrushed, they lack real, I dunno, realisim and substance I suppose. I do all my CM's in good 'ol acrilics and brushes, but then I do do Micro's most of the time lol!

Yea the smaller the model the eaiser it is to get away with. But this one's only small as well. She's about 4 inches tall. So not really small, but no where near a classic.

I think she looks great! When I was scrolling down and could only see her top line and head, I though she was a real horse!

Yeah, she does that some times. I was staring at her yesterday and if I thought hard enough I could see her as a real live mini horse. hehe. But you have to kinda just look at the good parts. Her hooves kinda take a way the real.

I got her a few years ago she was the type with the long long mane and fuzzy tail. I think she is lovely - I take it the name you have here is the name of the real horse? She reminds me somewhat of an appaloosa mare I had years ago - if I can find her pictures and scan them I will put them in my webshots - I think I will have to start a 'horses I used to own' folder and make it a sort of a memorial (my appy mare died in 2000).

Her name is sorta the name of the real horse. The Dam's name is Nioka Classic Queen and the Sire's name is Mega Dream. The ad said her name was My Classic Queen. But I mixed it up some and I liked Mega Dream Queen better. I used to own an appy too. But I had to sell her. Did your mare die of old age or something else? Cause I hear appy's can get cancer easily.

greys get cancer easily, too. you did a great job, but i think she would look better with a 'flowing' mane, instead of an 'upright' one. know what i mean?

airbrushing can look really good, but then, so can nearly anything if it is done well.

I used acrylics. Also for her mane, it didn't work out when I tried to make it long, so I temporarily have it that way. I think her mane and tail are scary. So I will definitely be chaning them asap.
