Hi guys, I’m seeking comments and criticism on my latest CM project the first one, was a bay Breyer Mini Whinny standing ASB Stallion, he is now a flaxen chestnut paint gelding, I carved out his hooves and ears, removed all of his seams and logos and altered his tail a bit. The Saddle and bridle are made out of genuine leather, with real metal rings and stirrups, it fit’s the standing QH a bit better though. So what do you think? Another one! (im such a show off!) I had to do a mate for Shah Nahsten. he got all the same stuff as Shah like carved ears and ect, and he is a portrate of Ara-something Pure Silver. oh and I called him Wicked Game. sorry his pics are not that hot . yeah I know, lots of pics, I could'nt help my self!! oh and Gimli has a new saddle & bridle

He's lovely- you must have used a magnifying glass to carve those hooves! Good paint job too! That must have been really hard! I havent started painting mine- the CM I received in the mail (in pieces) is now together again, and I will strip him before painting in either oils or pastels! I talked to Deb Poole, and she gave me all the goss on CM'ing!

Thanks guys, it means alot! I used ordinary acrilics from a cheap shop, although I wold reccomend Jo sonya's paint, I havn't used it on models before, but I've done folk art with it. steer well clear of Mont Marte, they have a tendancy to go hard in the tube and are very glosssy and gluggy, they're good for some things though Danielle: how much $$$ do you have? Lol Koolabah: he's the next size down from a stable mate, he looks huge in the photos though!

grey, I have only seen it in piccies, and allways on arabs so far, basically it is a chestnut greying out in a similar fasion to greys with that really black mane and tail while the body is white!

If the body had more 'grey' (literal) and perhaps a little dappling, he'd be a mulberry grey. Quite common on Spanish breeds.

yeah, I tried that, but apart from not looking quite right, I wanted to be exactly like the referance pics, there is a little bit of red/chestnut shading around his hocks and knees, but to be honest, I really I'm not that fond of him.....
