Hey guys. Was bored so thought I'd show you guys what I'm working on at the moment. ^-^ This is the Stablemate Standardbred that I originally had for my photo showing string, but then he caught my attention for greater things and I began to strip him with nail polish remover. BIG no no. >.< He started to 'melt' and his plastic was going in all the wrong places. So I stopped and for about 4 months he sat like this. If you look close you can see the really bad parts. XD Anyway, I was messing around with my 'new' heat gun (which mum just happened to find amongst her old stuff... yay!) and he seemed the perfect practice. So now, he has his back right leg moved out a bit so he stands much better, his tail and been moved to the left for a more 'swishy' effect, and his head has been raised. He now looks like this and has been temporarily named Mr. Magoo. He has one quick layer of primer just so I could see the rest of his blemishes. Anyway I want to know what you guys think I should colour him? I'm also thinking I may change his breed. Unless standardbred just works. I want to know what you guys think! ^-^

Good job! He now has that sort of harrassed look, like he's being given the cold shoulder by another horse I think if he is to be a true Standardbred, maybe give him a blockier head, paint him bay and paint on the Standardbred brands? And that near side shoulder and neck look a bit too muscly

Wow! He's lovely! I would love to see him a dark bay (or just light bay) with some freeze marks!!!! What primer did you use? I can only seem to find gesso (in tub form)- do you use aerosol primer? or thin layers of watered down primer? sorry for the questions, trying to hurry coz Im not meant 2b on net, meant to be doing physics..... gotta gallop... mums coming!

It's k. I could only find the tub form in Australia. Here in the US you can go to basically any craft store and they sell it in a spray form. It's so funny. Everyone wants to see him in a bay when that's what he was! We'll see. I've only done bays so far so I kinda want to try something different. But if everyone wants bay and think he'd look good like that maybe I will. ^-^ But I dunno about keeping him a strb if he doesn't look much like one.

Wow- I have enough trouble trying to track down some primer in aerosol form! grr... I wish Aus would get their butts into gear in regards to aerosol primer in craft shops!!!! Would love to be in another place right now.... (how are you enjoying life in the US? ) I would love to take a holiday to the US........ short trip in, visit Lexington, visit Kentucky Park, (would have to coincide with Breyerfest...) attend a few live shows etc..... bring back a resin....mmmmm sounds great already..... aside from accommodation and flight costs... I reckon he would be a lovely light bay! Even if he was dark bay to start with- I have a similar finish OF stablemate in the same colour- a matte finish would be lovely, in a lighter shade- get creative! Youve done a great job already!!!!!

lol. He still looks liked the phantom of the opera without the mask. XD Anyway, I'll probably try a dapple bay with him. I always think they look nice. But I'll keep him as a strb but won't worry about how he looks specifically. I wouldfix him up if I could but he's lucky he's even this far.

Poor guy won't get much work on him for a little while yet. Real busy this week, we'll see what happens.

I don't really have much school anyway. So that's not why I'm busy, but yea now that my brothers are on holiday I'll have an excuse to do stuff.
