Obviously, you don't want to sell them, but you never know what might happen. I wouldn't sell my babies either, but if something happened that I really needed the money, you know sometimes life is just more important than model horses. Say my real horse was in trouble. I wouldn't hestitate to sell to save something that is real.

I thought I read on an American site that touch up to OF was OK as long as it was to bring it back to OF (if that makes sense!). I would have thought that putting any marks on an OF that weren't there in the first place, would be seen as changing the OF, thereby making it a custom. Just goes to show what I know! LOL!!

smart thinking just have to be extra careful it doesnt get marked or scratched accidently when taking it off. although with a warm cloth it should come straight off if need be.

cute trick...white out=) It's wierd how people like us can become so attached to models, calling them 'babies' and all. If i told any of my friends at school they'd have a field day with it! Actually i've told a few horsey friends, they give me wierd looks but i pull the whole 'i've won cool stuff with them' when really they mean so much more...phew! That was a mouthful!

Hell no! They are still OF. I checked with the Australasian Model Horse Club, they have been showing models since 1994. These are not CM, a brand is a simple 'touch up' I also checked with an American Model Horse lady, she said it was fine. No sweat peeps, a brand is a brand. OK, I did a little research on this, and posted a question specifically about this on an American forum, and this is what I found. According to the American forum, Original Finish is just that....original finish straight from the factory. Nothing is done to it at all. Touching up or restoring to original finish does not make it a custom. However, a model with an added brand was not issued that way from the factory; the INTENTION was to add something that was not there when it was boxed and shipped. Just like adding a sock or blaze, this would make the model a custom. (that's from a US model horse judge). Sydney Live rules state: Original Finish OF– a model that is in the exact condition that it left the factory. No alterations/additions or removal of paint will be allowed. www.freewebs.com/sydneylivespringshow/entryinformation.htmThe Moss Vale Live Show has the exact same rules as Sydney Live. mossvaleliveshow.bravehost.com/programme.htmlAccording to my search, these are the standard rules governing all model horse show OF classes in Australia and America. If you received advice to the contrary, Georgia, then that person obviously did not know the rules of their own club (or was asleep when they responded LOL!)

wow you have certainly done your research. personally i think if its only a brand it shouldnt matter but i dont make the rules so i spose its insignificant what i think.
